Denver's economy is based partially on its geographic position and its connection to some of the major transportation systems of the country. Because Denver is the largest city within 600 miles, it has become a natural location for storage and distribution of goods and services to the Mountain States. Denver is also approximately halfway between the large cities of the Midwest like Chicago and Detroit and the cities of the West Coast, another benefit for distribution. Over the years, the city has been home to some large corporations in the central United States, making Denver a key trade point for the country.

Global Presence
The exchange of goods and services across international borders has greatly increased,
with the growth in international transactions far exceeding growth in domestic
transactions in recent years. U.S. exports of goods and services increased 10.5 percent,
while imports from foreign countries rose 12.8 percent in 2005. Such increases are three
to four times higher than growth in the overall national economy. Due in part to the
significant rise in international business activity, the flow of people across borders has
increased, as well. At the same time, the demand for real estate - both residential and
commercial – has been on the rise. Fast-growing international trade leads to relocation
of foreigners in the United States, as well as U.S. businesses opening offices abroad. In
short, conditions are ripe for engaging in international property brokerages.

Homes in southwestern Connecticut on the fringes of the New York City metropolitan area are quite expensive. Many towns have median home prices over $500,000, with some more desirable homes exceeding $1 million. Although Connecticut has the highest percentage of million-dollar homes in the Northeast (and third in the country), the majority of these homes are located in the western third of the state (in the suburbs of Danbury, Waterbury, Litchfield Hills, Bridgeport, Stamford, and New Haven) and in the Hartford suburbs.
